GARETH PUGH X PITTI 2011

GARETH PUGH PITTI 2011 - FILM BY RUTH HOGBEN from SHOWstudio on Vimeo.

Here is another video. Spicing things up a bit :/

Gareth Pugh, avant-garde designer and the one time apparent heir to the McQueen throne previewed his mini collection for Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy. Pugh was inspired by "ancient Italian architecture and religious iconography" and sought to juxtapose the old with the new. Pugh is more known for having gothic undertones in his previous collections, but here we see he has taken a slight detour and gone for...(gasp) colour! there is gold and cobalt blues. The gold dress with cobalt blue accents is my personal favourite :) sequined or scaled perfectly it looks like a beautiful frame or arch that would surround a Buonaorrti or Carravagio .

Oh, by the way there is a pretty good short film to accompany the mini collection. It is as contemporary and left-field as it's creative director. fluid , Interpretive dance, LSD inspired special effects coupled with a soundtrack that sounds suspiciously like something Daft Punk birthed...
